Any author will tell you, just writing a great book isn’t enough – you need readers, and you need a clear plan to get them.
This Masterclass will show you how…
Dear Indie Author,
Writing your book is the fun part.
An outpouring of love, a river of creation. You’ve spent weeks, months – maybe even a year or more – writing your book, and you’re proud of it.
And you’re excited to get it out into the world and start finding your readers.
That’s where the trouble starts.
Without warning, it hits you: you have no idea how to attract the people you know will love your book. You know they’re out there – but they don’t know you or your books even exist. Even when readers do find your books on, for example, Amazon – you have no way of telling them when your next book is out.
Over all this, the question lingers: how do you actually attract readers to your books?
So you look around online for an answer… and you get a dozen:
- You have to post on Twitter every day (but about what?)
- You DEFINITELY need Instagram and Youtube. Oh, and TikTok. Maybe Facebook?
- Amazon ads are the way to go, you’re told – but what do you say in those ads?
- Freebies are a must-have.
- Don’t forget your email list (but again, what on earth do I say?)
- And get booked on podcasts!
It’s not that any of these answers are bad. They’re good. But they’re not clear or systematic, and they are overwhelming.
But you want readers, so you do what you can… but the feelings of overwhelm and confusion remain. Sound familiar?
If you’re like most self-published authors, you were shocked to find being a writer somehow means being a marketer/copywriter/advertiser/business owner/judo expert (maybe not the last one…)
That’s where I come in.
I sat down this week with my boyfriend Alexander – a self-published author and professional copywriter – to create a 1-hour video Masterclass called The 1-Page Book Marketing Plan for Authors.
In it, we discuss:
- Freebie, reader magnet, lead magnet, bait piece – are they the same thing? Plus: why having one is non-negotiable
- Do you know the ONE purpose of all your book marketing? The answer may surprise you…
- The ‘rule of one’ copywriting trick that makes all your marketing easier – and more effective
- How to turn your emails into social media and blog posts with almost no extra work
- 2 different audiences – and which one you need to become a successful self-published author
- How to think about your ‘Reader’s Journey’
- Should every writer have a website and blog?
- Why you need an email list – and how to grow it
- How often should you email your list? Plus: a simple way to never run out of things to say
- 5 kinds of copy every author needs in their marketing plans – and why

- The ‘lemonade stand’: why you’re already a marketer – even if you’ve never thought of yourself as anything but a writer
